Loudoun County ZIP Codes by Area
The Loudoun GIS ZIP metadata identifies 24 current labels supplied by USPS. County survey material and the county ZIP map also show several labels that need a current verification. A postal label can describe a broad service area, a rural community, or only the Loudoun portion of a ZIP that reaches another county. The table keeps those distinctions visible rather than implying that each label is a separate municipality.
| ZIP | Areas Covered | Post Office | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| 20105 | Aldie community | Aldie | Fast-growth historical ZIP; verify the exact USPS address. |
| 20107 | Arcola in county survey data | Arcola | Not on the condensed current metadata list; verify its boundary. |
| 20117 | Middleburg town and area | Middleburg | County ZIP metadata label. |
| 20120 | Loudoun portion of Centreville | Centreville | Extends into Fairfax-area geography. |

| 20184 | Upperville rural area | Upperville | Partial ZIP with a limited Loudoun portion. |
| 20185 | Not located in current metadata | Unconfirmed | Do not promise Loudoun coverage without USPS verification. |
| 20186 | Not located in current metadata | Unconfirmed | Do not promise Loudoun coverage without USPS verification. |
| 20189 | Not located in current metadata | Unconfirmed | Do not promise Loudoun coverage without USPS verification. |
| 20197 | Waterford rural community | Waterford | Rural/community label. |
| 20198 | The Plains border area | The Plains | County metadata lists a partial border area. |
| 22066 | Loudoun portion of Great Falls | Great Falls | Common city label is Fairfax County area. |
Ashburn uses both 20147 and 20148. Sterling appears under 20164, 20165, and 20166, while Leesburg has 20175 and 20176 alongside two survey labels that need confirmation. The county map also labels 20107 even though the condensed metadata page does not. That mismatch is a reason to check a current delivery address and the parcel, not to infer a boundary from a list alone.
Loudoun County ZIP Labels Need Checking
ZIP boundaries are supplied by USPS, but the county warns that metadata is maintained as needed and map features can be generalized for scale. That matters at county edges. Centreville, Chantilly, Herndon, and Great Falls labels can include a Loudoun address while also pointing readers toward Fairfax-area geography. Rural labels pose a different issue: Paris, Bluemont, Upperville, and The Plains may cover only a portion of Loudoun.
Use the county ZIP layer for a first look, then verify a delivery address through USPS when mail recognition matters. The county directs new-address users to a current ZIP lookup before relying on a street address. A Census ZCTA is not a replacement because it is a statistical approximation of a postal service area, not the exact ZIP assigned to a Loudoun parcel.
ZIP Code Filters in Loudoun Property Search
The Loudoun County Real Property Search exposes ZIP Code on its common search form. It returns assessment-oriented parcel results, not a roster of people. Adding a street or land-use field helps narrow a broad ZIP result. The result may provide ownership and deed information, legal description, sales, assessment values, and house characteristics, but an assessed owner is not automatically the current occupant.
| Field | Type | Required | ZIP-search note |
|---|---|---|---|
| Parcel ID | Text | Optional | All parcel IDs are 12 characters; * wildcard is allowed. |
| Land Use Code | Text/dropdown-like input | Optional | Pair it with ZIP to narrow a result set. |
| Street # | Text | Optional | Use with Street when an address is known. |
| Street | Text plus selection control | Optional | Help advises omitting the street suffix. |
| ZIP Code | Text | Optional | Common-form ZIP filter; accepted list was not exposed. |
| Deactivated Accounts | Checkbox/control | Optional | Shown as a Filter By control. |
| Sort by | Dropdown | Optional | Options were not exposed in the captured form. |
| Results/page | Dropdown/input | Optional | Options were not exposed in the captured form. |
| Search | Button | Not applicable | Runs one or more selected fields. |
The form help allows one or more fields. Its Advanced Search is for range fields such as year built, number of stories, and tax-map range. No owner-name field was exposed on the common-search screen inspected in September 2026, so a ZIP search should begin with a property or address question rather than an unsupported name-only query.
Search a Loudoun County ZIP Code
A ZIP-filtered search can move from a broad postal area to one parcel, but the right source depends on the question. Property records help identify an assessed owner and the parcel identifiers. WebLogis places the parcel against the ZIP polygon. Virginia's voter portal uses ZIP as part of a one-person registration-status form, not as an open ZIP-wide directory. Follow the narrowest official route that answers the question.
- Confirm the mailing ZIP with a current USPS lookup when the address is new, uncertain, or near a county line.
- Enter the ZIP in Real Property Search and add a street or land-use field when the result set is too broad.
- Open WebLogis, turn on the LandRecords ZIP Codes layer, and compare the polygon with the parcel or address point.
- Click a parcel and follow its PIN link to the tax record. Preserve the PIN and legal description for any later Clerk search.
- For one person's registration status, use the Virginia Department of Elections Citizen Portal with first name, last name, date of birth, and ZIP Code.
Virginia voter lists have separate statutory access rules. The Citizen Portal is the ordinary route for a single status check, while statewide list products use locality, district, election, or town filters and are not a public ZIP-wide directory. Once a parcel is identified, the Loudoun County By Street directory has the address-level workflow.
WebLogis ZIP Code Layers
The county's GeoHub guidance for WebLogis describes the mapping controls that connect an address search, parcel tools, and property-tax information. ZIP Codes appear as a LandRecords layer alongside Address Points, Road Centerline, Parcel Boundaries, and Subdivisions. Address points, parcel boundaries, and road centerlines update daily from the prior business day, while other map layers follow their own schedules.
County GeoHub guidance illustrates the WebLogis layer and parcel-search workflow.
On the live map, choose an autocomplete address before selecting Locate on Map. Pressing Enter without choosing the suggested address can create an error. The ZIP polygon gives context, while the underlined PIN on a selected parcel leads to the Commissioner record that supplies the assessment details.
Address Changes in Loudoun County
Loudoun's Office of Mapping and Geographic Information administers addressing and street naming outside incorporated towns. New addresses and street names go to USPS and some mapping providers, but Google, Apple, Waze, and OpenStreetMap can take weeks to catch up. A new address cannot be used until the county's effective-date notice. That timing can make a ZIP lookup and a map result disagree for a short period.
The 2022-2024 road-renaming work also affects historic address searching. Leesburg Court became Compass Rose Court, Little River Lane became Vilgrain Farm Lane, and several Round Hill roads changed names. Route 7 became Leesburg Pike and Route 50 became Little River Turnpike in the county effort. Keep both street names with the ZIP, PIN, and legal description when comparing older material.
Note: A current USPS check confirms delivery recognition, while the legal description and PIN keep a parcel trail intact through a road-name change.
Loudoun County ZIPs Are Not Town Lines
Loudoun includes incorporated towns, unincorporated communities, and rural land. A Leesburg postal address can sit outside Town of Leesburg limits, so town services and taxes follow the town boundary rather than the postal label. The 2025 Leesburg resident guide directs readers to the Town GIS portal for a limits check. The same caution applies where Centreville, Chantilly, Herndon, or Great Falls labels overlap county boundaries.
For a records request, use the parcel's legal address and the appropriate county or town GIS record rather than the city printed in the mailing address. The county assigns addresses outside incorporated towns using its Address Grid Map and the driveway-road access point. A deed generally relies on a legal description, PIN, or tax-map number, so the legal parcel can remain stable even after a road name changes.
- ZIP Code
- A USPS delivery-area label. It does not establish a municipal or county boundary.
- ZIP+4
- The extra four digits USPS uses to sort mail more precisely within a ZIP Code.
- P.O. box ZIP
- A postal designation for box delivery, which may differ from the location of a parcel.
- Unique ZIP
- A ZIP assigned to a single organization or large mail recipient. No such Loudoun assignment is promised here.
- Carrier route
- A postal delivery route within a ZIP area. It is not a parcel boundary or a resident roster.
Limits of a ZIP Code Directory
A ZIP code can sort postal geography and narrow a parcel search. It cannot identify everyone at an address, prove that an assessed owner lives there, or replace the current USPS delivery record. WebLogis and the Commissioner portal are public tools for parcels and assessment data, not household lists. A voter status result is also only one corroborating record and may be affected by list-maintenance timing or protected-address rules.
Use public records for lawful, personal research. Do not use a ZIP, parcel, or map layer to stalk, harass, threaten, or expose a protected address. Virginia's Address Confidentiality Program and protected voter rules can replace a residence street address with a substitute or P.O. box. Those safeguards should not be bypassed.
